Surrounded by close family, friends, and the fresh blooms of Spring, Maddison vowed to spend the rest of her life with Ben. We spoke with Real Bride Maddison to learn the inspiration behind her spring garden party wedding, her ‘love at first sight’ moment while wedding dress shopping, and more.

Let’s go back to where it all began. When and how did you meet your significant other?

We actually have known each other since we were at school - we worked together at McDonald’s and then ended up with mutual friends as we grew older. I always had an attraction and interest in Ben however we always seemed to be in other relationships - he finally messaged me after a music festival and we have been inseparable ever since our first date!

Hit us in the heart strings and tell us all about the proposal!

It was on Christmas Day 2022 - our first family Christmas with our son, Koa. He said to me he had a ‘little something’ for me and pulled out the ring. I was in complete shock and little Koa was clapping. So cute!

Was there a theme for your wedding? What inspired you while styling your dream day?

Yes we did have a theme; spring garden party! We wanted to play on the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers where people travel from all over the world to visit!

What was the inspiration behind your bridal look?

I was going for a whimsical and romantic look.

Describe your ‘yes to the dress’ moment. How did you feel and what made you say ‘yes’?

Omg, it was the first dress I tried on and I fell in LOVE! I’m still so obsessed with it to this day and to be honest, it was something I never would have thought to pick or a style I was interested in to begin with.
