The Special Couple: Chelsie + James

THE FIRST SIGHT & THE PROPOSAL 

We met when James was 17, and I was 19. We were still in school and met through social media. We talked and FaceTimed for around three months and finally met in person. We are both from Ireland, and after being together for 2-3 years, we moved to Australia.

James took me to a mountain retreat on our 7th anniversary, and I thought it was for our anniversary, but it turned out he had rented the Bali retreat for us, which included a Bali-style villa. We went for a message, and after, they blindfolded us and led us into a big Roman-style pool where big letters were saying, "Will you marry me". James picked the Bali style as we wanted to get married in Bali, which we did.

THE VENUE & INSPIRATION 

We had always wanted a Bali destination wedding, so we got married at Tirtha in Uluwatu in Bali. We had the idea of getting married on the cliff over the water with the fairy lights over the dance floor at night. Our day was exactly that and even more.

THE BRIDAL LOOK & SAYING "YES" TO THE DRESS 

My experience at eternal bridal was amazing. I had gone to another shop before and wanted to leave crying. I was made to feel like I couldn't afford anything -it was like a pretty women moment. I said to my bridesmaids I didn't want to continue the hunt for a dress as I was so put-off. I saw a tik tok of an Enzoani wedding dress similar to the one I picked and knew I wanted something new and light like it. So I made an appointment to try wedding dresses at Eternal Bridal.

My Eternal Bridal stylist Cait was wonderful. She helped me pick a few dresses, and the last dress she chose was my wedding dress. I tried on five gowns at Eternal Bridal, and I did love them all, but when I tried on the last dress, I knew I loved it, and it felt right. I did, however, have the bridal thoughts that I think every woman has - assuming they've chosen the wrong dress. It wasn't until I had it altered to fit me, which took three rounds of appointments, and I tweeted a few things I then loved it. It was at my dress pick-up appointment that I finally said I loved it, and that was the first time I felt happy in it.

THE HIGHLIGHT OF OUR DAY 

There wasn’t really a particular highlight, the whole day was amazing from start to finish! 

CHELSIE'S ADVICE 

I would say, don’t stress over other people as you’ll never please everyone. If I could do it again I would probably elope and go on a long holiday alone with my husband
