EB REAL BRIDE OF AUGUST
Posted by Annie Lu onThe Special Couple: Meg + Michael
THE FIRST SIGHT & PROPOSAL
Michael and I met 11 years ago at the local pub in Terrigal, where we are from. Michael proposed in a very unique way. He purchased a BBQ for himself and put the ring inside it. When I opened the lid of the BBQ, he was down on one knee and proposed!
THE BRIDAL LOOK & SAYING "YES" TO THE DRESS
I tried on in total seven wedding dresses. I wanted a traditional bridal look. I had the best experience at Eternal Bridal. My Eternal Bridal stylist suggested the wedding dress I ended up with. I wouldn't have picked it up if they didn't recommend it to me, but the dress was unlike anything else I'd seen and just seemed perfect. Once I found my bridal gown, I just went with the style for my bridal outfit. Everything was easy and no stress, private and beautiful.
THE BEST THING ABOUT OUR DAY
The true highlight was being able to celebrate with all our family and friends. Covid almost made the wedding impossible but we were so lucky to be able to have our dream day. It rained all day and it made all of the photos look amazing, the rain didn’t affect our day at all or bother any of our guests, everyone just had fun.

THE FIRST SIGHT & PROPOSAL
Jake and I have known each other since we were kids. We were on holiday with our family in the Hunter Valley and had just returned from a winery when Jake dropped the knee. I had no idea it was coming. It was beautiful, and it felt like we were in a little engagement bubble for the rest of the trip.
THE BRIDAL LOOK & SAYING "YES" TO THE DRESS
Rustic, bohemian vibes inspired me. I have always loved natural timber, antique decor and pastel colours, which we had for our wedding look. I tried on about five dresses before the Galia Lahav trunk show, as recommended by Eternal Bridal. They didn't compare to the quality and design of Galia Lahav at all. My mum, sister and I went to Eternal Bridal during the Galia Lahav Trunk Show to try on the Gia wedding dress. I had my eye on Gia for at least a year before this. The service was fantastic, I didn't feel pressured, and they gave great advice. When I put on the dress, it was everything I had imagined and more. I was so happy, mum cried, and we left the store in shock that I had found my dress so quickly!
THE BEST THING ABOUT OUR DAY AND BRIDE'S ADVICE
Choosing a specific moment is hard, but I would say exchanging vows was my highlight. As for advice, I would say learn how to delegate! The 4-6 weeks before the wedding is the most hectic and stressful time out of everything, and trying to coordinate every aspect can be pretty overwhelming.

THE FIRST SIGHT & PROPOSAL
Mario and I met at a mutual friend’s birthday party. After Covid lockdowns, we went to a reunion in Byron Bay with all our friends. Whilst we were there, he asked me if I would marry him.
THE BRIDAL LOOK & SAYING "YES" TO THE DRESS
We had our wedding on the gorgeous island of Phuket in Thailand because we wanted something tropical and lush for our day. For my bridal look, I wanted a bit of everything, so I went for a modern take on a dress that was also timeless. I tried on at least ten wedding dresses, but the Odette wedding dress brought tears. It was very emotional. I felt like my life was about to change. I'm the first of all my friends and sisters to get married, so it was emotional for all of us.
THE BEST THING ABOUT OUR DAY & BRIDE'S ADVICE
The highlight was the stunning sunset we had on the day. I felt like it was just for us. My advice would be to follow your gut. It's usually right, and you're better at this than you think: trust yourself. Lastly, Appreciate your sister/bridesmaids always.
