REAL BRIDE ANDRESSA WEDS IN GALIA LAHAV

On the 24th April 2024, Andressa and Nathan tied the knot overlooking the ocean in Bali, Indonesia. We spoke to EB Real Bride, Andressa to learn all about bringing her Galia Lahav dreams to life, planning a whimsical fairytale ceremony and reception, and her best piece of advice for those planning a destination wedding.

Let’s go back to where it all began. When and how did you meet your significant other?

I met Nathan back in 2016. We worked together for a year and a half before he told me how he felt about me. I was already in love with Nathan then, but he didn't know and only realised he liked me back when I told him I was going to move from Sydney to Adelaide. He then decided to tell me how he felt about me, and things moved very quickly from that moment. We started dating on that day, moved in together two weeks later, and he proposed just a couple of days after our two-year anniversary.

How did your now-husband propose?

He proposed during a dinner one day before my 25th birthday and just days after our 2nd anniversary together on 24/08/2019. He took me out to dinner at Est. (I think they closed that restaurant after the pandemic), but it was truly stunning. I didn't expect it at all; he had it all planned. When we had just finished our main course, he started to say all the reasons why he loves me, got on his knees, and popped the question. It was such an amazing experience. I remember never feeling anything like it. It was very special and emotional moment.

Was there a theme for your wedding? What inspired you while styling your dream day?

I wanted our wedding to be whimsical and ethereal, to feel like a fairytale. I wanted everything to be very romantic, with lots of flowers and candles. Warm, cozy, and magical.

What was the inspiration behind your bridal look?

I wanted my wedding dress to be authentic and very true to my personality. But I also wanted to bring a timeless, elegant and modern element to my look. I love the whimsical, ethereal vibe so when I saw the Mel gown by Galia Lahav I was thought, "That's exactly what I was looking for" It was absolutely stunning and so ethereal.

Describe your ‘yes to the dress’ moment. How did you feel and what made you say ‘yes’?

When I saw the Mel gown hanging on the rack, I got goosebumps and I told my Mum, "I think that's my dress. I need to try it on." As soon as I put it on, I felt very emotional and I didn't want to take it off. I said 'yes' to the dress instantly!

How was your experience at Eternal Bridal?

It was wonderful! Everybody was very helpful and made it so easy and special. Very grateful to have found Eternal Bridal.

What was the highlight of your special day?

It started raining very lightly just as the ceremony was about to start. But, as soon as I began to walk down the aisle, the rain stopped and the sun shone on me all the way to the altar. It turned out to be such a beautiful day.

If you could go back in time and give your newly-engaged self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Don't worry, everything will work out perfectly and exactly how it is meant to be. As you live through your wedding day, all the tiny details you cared so much about don't matter anymore. The day is so special and truly magical, so just enjoy the planning and don't worry too much because it will all work out in the end.
