REAL BRIDE YUNIQUE WEARS IN GALIA LAHAV IN STUNNING BALI WEDDING

Wedding Date: 5th January 2019
THE FIRST SIGHT & PROPOSAL
We met at a carnival in Sydney called the Royal Easter show. Whenever we get asked about what we do as a couple, one of the most prominent themes is getaways. The weird thing is I'm the one who usually plans them, so one weekend with Travis suggesting a weekend away had me suddenly intrigued! He wouldn't spill on the details of the location though... nothing suss! He drove me roughly three hours out of Sydney. We navigated our way through Sydney's bush life and for a second it made me think, are we camping? Camping is not really my thing. I was wrong of course! We rocked up to receive a five course degustation for lunch. My first thought was "Wow!". Posting to Instagram, one of my friends said "I think someone's proposing...". From there we had another amazing dinner and he surprised me by the outside fire pit. Down on one knee he proposed and I said yes.
THE INSPIRATION & VENUE
Millions of people flock to Bali for holidays with one thing in mind, "relaxing on the beach under that lovely hot sun". We chose to have our wedding in January, our wedding was set to be engulfed in the Bali weather. With the impending high temperatures, I knew that I needed something that was light but still amazingly elegant. This was my brief for choosing the dress.
THE DRESS
I tried around 6 dresses in total before finally finding the 'it' dress. The dress felt light, it was intricately detailed and the colour blended nicely with my skin tone. My number one priority was it being comfortable and this was the winner without a doubt.
THE BEST THING ABOUT OUR DAY
It's a bit hard to choose just one moment. With incredible local talent from Indonesia, the wedding blew all expectations me and my husband had. Whether it was the pyros when we had our first dance, the fireworks by the beach or the non stop partying on the beach deck for the after party. There were countless moments which we both know are one in a lifetime. We only wish we could re-live the wedding.
YUNIQUE'S ADVICE
Leading up to the wedding, every bride has 3 million things running through their head. With this, if I could wind back time and tell my newly engaged self one piece of advice it would be 'don't stress too much and enjoy every moment because it's once in a lifetime'.
