REAL BRIDE MEL SAYS "I DO" IN ENZOANI

From a reluctant double date, to a Valentine’s Day proposal, to then walking down the aisle to exchange vows, Real Bride Mel tells us all about her love story with her now-husband, Mazin, including how she discovered her dream wedding dress at Eternal Bridal Sydney.

How did you and your husband meet?

Mazin and I first met at a friend’s party. I was the one who approached him first and started talking. That night, he asked for my number, but I playfully turned him down. A month later, our friends set us up on a double date. It took some convincing for me to agree, but eventually, I said yes and I’m so glad I did. From that day on, we’ve been inseparable and our love story has only grown stronger.

How did Mazin propose?

It was Valentine's Day and Mazin told me that he planned a special dinner for us in the city. He told me to put on my nicest dress and to glam up. In the back of my mind I had a feeling maybe he was going to propose but at the same time I didn't want to get my hopes up. We drove to the city and I thought we were walking to the restaurant. Next thing I know, it was a park under the Harbour Bridge with a flower arrangement, fireworks, our families, and he got down on one knee and proposed. It was a magical moment.

Was there a theme for your wedding? If so, what inspired you?

I didn’t really have a specific theme in mind. I just wanted to keep things simple and focused on celebrating our love.

What inspired your bridal look?

My dress inspired my entire look. The train and the design of my dress was stunning alone, so I wanted my look to be simple and natural to compliment my dress.

What was the highlight of your special day?

There were so many it’s hard to pin point one. Having my family from overseas being part of my wedding was very special to me. Waking up and getting ready with my girls. But if I had to pick one highlight it would be the entry of our wedding reception.

How many gowns did you try on? What made your chosen gown stand out from all the others?

I knew I wanted a mermaid silhouette, so I started researching online to try to find some inspiration. I went to a boutique before I came to Eternal Bridal where I tried on a few gowns, however they didn’t give me that feeling of “This is the one, I want to get married in this dress.”

At that point I thought about putting a pause on wedding dress shopping until I saw my dream dress at Eternal Bridal. The moment I saw it I knew it was the one. It’s hard to say what stood out to me, just everything about it was perfect; the details of the lace, the train, the sparkles. I instantly fell in love with it.

Describe your ‘yes’ to the dress moment at Eternal Bridal.

One night, I was scrolling through Instagram and discovered the ‘Therese’ gown from Enzoani’s latest collection. The moment I saw the picture of the dress I instantly was in love with it. It gave me that feeling of “This is the one, this is the dress I want to get married in”

I then did some research and saw that Eternal Bridal had this gown in stock for their Enzoani Trunk Show. However, it was only available at the Melbourne boutique. I contacted Eternal Bridal Sydney, asked them about this gown, and immediately they shipped the dress to their Sydney boutique for me to try on.

I can’t thank them enough for getting my dream dress. Big thank you to the Eternal Bridal Sydney and a huge thanks to my amazing stylist, Kaila. She made my experience so joyful and delightful. I would get so excited for every appointment I had. If anyone needs a wedding dress, I recommend Eternal Bridal.

If you could give your newly engaged self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Enjoy every moment of it.
