REAL BRIDE LISA MARRIES IN LAZARO

The Special Couple: Lisa & Kyle

THE FIRST SIGHT

We first met when I moved to Wellington, New Zealand, and I was living with some of the people who knew Kyle. We saw each other at a few events but never really got a chance to talk, until we connected over some shared work with youth. Working with Kyle, I realised his skill and talent with design, and his ability to inspire young people who may not have previously believed they had any special creative skills. He bought out the potential in young people who didn't believe they had any.

THE PROPOSAL

Kyle organized an evening where we spent time at some significant places throughout Wellington. We had been together for five years when he proposed, so we had built up some favourite places and restaurants. We walked up to a hill which overlooks Wellington, and Kyle proposed!

THE INSPIRATION

We wanted the wedding to be outdoors, at a location which made it easy for guests to come and relax. Guests were able to park, sleep, eat, and party all at the same venue. We wanted those guests who travelled to have a chance to genuinely rest and relax. There was no set theme for the wedding, and we just wanted a sense of community and relaxation for the people we loved.

HER SAY "YES" TO THE DRESS MOMENT

I tried on only one dress! I saw the dress and instantly loved it. It was the first dress I tried on, and I knew as soon as I tried it on that it was the one.  It was just perfect. I loved the ivory and gold; I loved the lace, the shape, everything. It fit like a glove, and there was not a single thing about it, I would change.

It felt too good to be true. To walk into such a beautiful store, see that dress on display, put it on and know it was the one - you couldn't ask for a better experience!

THE HIGHLIGHT

Looking around and seeing our families and friends connecting and being together.

LISA'S ADVICE

Chill. Everything is going to be OK.
