The Special Couple: Rachelle & Branislav

THE FIRST SIGHT

We met 8 years ago. He was five years older than me, and I was 18 at the time. I had seen him around, but we had never spoken to each other before. Then one day I was asked by a mutual friend to go down the coast jet skiing, and he happened to be there with his jet ski. I was properly introduced to him, and we started chatting. He invited me on his jet ski and took me around the ocean (this impressed me). I was blown away by how handsome he was. We talked all day and felt as though we knew each other for years. I didn’t want the day to end. As soon as we got home that day, we started chatting online, and from that day, we fell in love.

THE PROPOSAL

It was our 6th anniversary. He organised a trip to Melbourne to celebrate. Not knowing what's waiting for me, we landed, and he told me we were going to a winery in the Yarra Valley. We jumped in our getaway car and travelled for about 1 hour until we hit our destination. By this time it was lunch, and he had organised a 6-course meal, at this point I had no idea what was going on. After we ate, he then walked me through the vineyards and then stopped at a wishing well. He told me to make a wish and to close my eyes. I made a wish and then as I opened my eyes he was there kneeling on one knee with a beautiful ring. He asked me to marry him! It is so hard to put into words the feelings I felt. But all I knew, was at that moment it was one of the happiest days of my life. I knew I found my soul mate when I met him, but when he asked me to marry him, I felt so much love and happiness within. He made me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

THE INSPIRATION

We went with a modern rustic theme with the colours of white, green and gold. We were inspired by the work of our stylist Jimmy Naumovski. He went beyond our expectations and nailed our visions.

THE BRIDAL LOOK

My style of simplicity personally inspired my bridal look with a touch of sexy. I wanted a look that mimicked my personality e.g. the bold red lip.

I tried on about five gowns before trying on my Badgley Mischka Autumn gown. I had no prior expectations or ideas of what I wanted. I went in with an open mind yet still wanted to feel myself in the chosen gown. What stood out about my Badgley Mischka Gown, was that I felt my complete utter self the moment I looked in the mirror. It was the perfect gown for me, and I do believe that it mimicked me to a T and showcased Rachelle!

THE BEST THING ABOUT OUR DAY

There were many highlights of our special night, although one particular highlight would have been running up a massive hill on the property of our venue to catch the sunset with our photographer and Videographer. They even made us lie on the floor. I wouldn't have changed one thing about this moment, as it allowed both Branislav and myself to really take a step back and reflect about how amazing our day had been going and how lucky we were to share it with such amazing people.

RACHELLE'S ADVICE

Take every moment in as slowly as possible and to take one breathe at a time. The moment passes so quick and to just really embrace and enjoy every moment.
