PENELOPE SAYS "I DO" IN ENZOANI
Posted by Annie Lu onThe Special Couple: Penelope + Tim
THE FIRST SIGHT & PROPOSAL
We met at work! Though he did ask me some tough questions in my job interview.
Tim proposed in Rome on my birthday - very romantic. He had travelled with the ring from Sydney, and I had no idea. We had spent the day touring the Colosseum, and when we were back at the hotel, he asked if I wanted to come home as a Lloyd. We had a wonderful celebration that night in Rome with lots of limoncellos and an American couple paid for our bottle of champagne which we found out after they left the restaurant!
THE INSPIRATION
There were two themes which inspired our big day; one was 'Italian' as we got engaged in Italy and loved Italian food - we had an all Italian menu, Italian wines, cheese, gelato and limoncello. The second was 'academic traditions'. We had the ceremony at Shore School where my husband, his father and grandfather all attended as boarders and the reception at Sydney Uni where my grandparents met in the 1930s when not many women went to uni, my parents met at Sydney Uni too, and I had a wonderful time there studying and living on campus!
HER SAY "YES" TO THE DRESS MOMENT
I knew I was wearing Tim's grandmother's veil which had hand-embroidered lace and wanted to have a lace dress as well. This veil has been worn by 25 brides with no divorces!
I went to 9 shops and probably tried over 30 dresses. My Enzoani Kamryn gown stood out for its gorgeous layers of lace and beading, I loved the back, low but not too low, and the train - beautiful but not too long.
THE BEST THING ABOUT OUR DAY
The dancing! We had dance lessons to prepare for our bridal dance to Can You Feel the Love tonight then had lots of fun on the dance floor with friends, family and my husband
PENELOPE'S ADVICE
My advice would be to pick a venue where you don't have to hire your furniture and crockery!
Penelope wore ‘Kamryn’ from Enzoani. See more gowns from Enzoani Collection here
PENELOPE'S ETERNAL BRIDAL EXPERIENCE
The Eternal Bridal store was wonderful; Sky was so helpful and great at making suggestions without being pushy. I thought it was the one but knew it was when I brought my mum back to see it and got her approval! Very exciting.
